During the last week in May we were fortunate to have our great friends for a visit. Roger and Peg Johnson and Darryl and Marla Walz joined us on the east coast for a week of rest and relaxation - ha ha. Most days started with us leaving the apartment around 8 AM and returning after 8 PM.The picture above was taken at Chadwicks, which is one of our favorite places in Old Towne Alexandria. Here you can get great food and the beverage of your choice at a reasonable price.

On this visit it was our first time at the National Mall in the evening. We were really impressed with how the Jefferson and Roosevelt Memorials looked at night. Here Darryl and Marla are with the Washington Monument and Tidal Basin in the background.

Here are Roger and Peg standing in front of the Marine Corps War Memorial - Iwo Jima. This is located next to the Arlington Cemetery.

Here we find Darryl trying to escape the waves of a chilly Atlantic Ocean.

Here is Peg at Rehoboth Beach Delaware getting ready to find sea shells and catch some sun.

For those of you who have been in our apartment you can see Marla is enjoying one of our favorite spots at the "Pub Table" reading the paper and enjoying the view.

And here is Roger enjoying life on the beach. Life doesn't get much better than this. Well maybe???
Life is great when you can spend it with good friends over a nice lunch in Annapolis MD.During the week we did see the Nationals beat the Brewers, the National Mall, Arlington Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, the Holocaust Museum, the US Capitol, Chadwicks, US Naval Academy, Rohoboth Beach DE, and the Gettysburg National Military Park.
